Hola, my name is Danny Mejia, and I come from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, a vibrant tapestry of culture, history, and breathtaking landscapes. I'm proud of my rich cultural background. My father is Peruvian, while my late mother was Spanish and Puerto Rican. Losing her in 2020 was tough, but I carry her legacy with me every day. As the youngest of five, my family means everything to me. I studied pre-med, music, and French at Stetson University in Florida, and now I work as a loan originator, helping people finance their homes. Music has always been my passion. I started studying at the Conservatory of Music and began singing and songwriting. It's my way of channeling energy and connecting with others. Sports are another huge part of my life. I was a competitive swimmer in Puerto Rico's National League, and I love running, boxing. Being competitive drives me in everything I do. I'm also deeply committed to my community. I've been a volunteer with the Renal Council of Puerto Rico since I was 13, inspired by my sister's journey with renal failure. My mom was the president of the council, and her dedication to helping others inspires me every day. Surrounded by the sounds of coqui frogs, the rhythms of salsa, bomba, plena, reggaeton, the warmth of our people, the flavors of our cuisine, these experiences have shaped who I am. I carry with me the spirit of my island, where every sunrise brings hope and every sunset is a celebration. I am proud to represent Puerto Rico in the 2024 Mr. World competition. This isn't just a title for me. It's an opportunity to showcase the resilience and beauty of our culture on a global stage. I want the world to see the heart of Puerto Rico, our passion, our empathy, and our unwavering spirit. Thank you for being a part of my journey. I look forward to seeing you all in Vietnam.
