My head to head challenge speech! This meant a lot to me, and I was so glad to be able to speak openly about this ❤️
I believe that being a modern man is about strength, empathy and standing up for what truly matters. This journey isn't about a title, it's about growth and making a difference. Mr. World is not about rivalry, it's about representing something. I want to show that true strength lies in vulnerability. Mental health is an incredibly important thing to me and I've dedicated myself to breaking the stigma around it, especially for men. Earlier this year I lost my step mum in a motorcycle accident and if it wasn't for the people that I had around me, the support I had and the ability to speak up when I was struggling, I don't know where I would be. That's why I started my Lifting the Weight campaign, centred around encouraging men to change their wellbeing and show that it is okay to speak up, it is okay not to be okay and reaching out or speaking up can change a life, even yours. My goal competing in Mr. World is to inspire men to be strong, to be open, to be ambitious but to be compassionate. Success to me isn't defined by a title, it's defined by the impact we make. Regardless of if I am Mr. World or not, I will shift the narrative. Let's encourage one another to share our struggles, to lift the weight we carry and to remind each other that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Together we can create a community where everyone feels safe to express their feelings and reach out for support. Together we can and we will make a difference, one conversation at a time. Thank you.
