Financial literacy is not just about money. It is about empowering people to take control of their future. Many young Jamaicans are not equipped with the financial knowledge they need to make wise decisions in life. This lack of financial education contributes to debt, poor investment decisions, and limited economic opportunities. All right, so I'll be teaching you guys about money, how to handle money, how to save properly, how to budget, and all of these things. So I'm going to prepare you guys to have a financially secured future. You can also, you can save with this. You can put this money into savings and you can also invest the money. That is why it is called the golden number. I want to break those cycles of poverty through workshops, school presentations, and interactive sessions. I aim to teach young Jamaicans the essentials of financial literacy, like budgeting, saving, investing, and smart financial habits. What I mean by a share, you own part of a company. You can invest in a part of the company and you get money over time. I'm Michelle Robinson, Principal for Mountain View Primary and Infant. Tariq is our past student. I remember he was part of a special program called Reading Rangers. And after that, he just flew because it was focused on literacy and numeracy. And so he's really an inspiration to us. I must say I appreciate the initiative put on by the future entrepreneurs. One of the issues I've realized in recent time is that children don't understand the importance of financial stability. This initiative, I hope the children have taken as much as they can from it and they will apply the concepts that they have learned in their day-to-day lives. Financial education helped me to understand how to plan for the future, avoid debt, and build a better life. Now, I want to pass that knowledge on to the next generation.
